The Yorkshire Bouncers

are a flyball team based in the Selby and Driffield areas. The team competes in British Flyball Association  sanctioned tournaments all over the country.

Adina, Will, Gail, Hazel,Ben, & Neil plus dogs racing (for fun)

We also host tournements locally and you can find a list of them on the site so pop along and say hello. You will spot us we wear blue shirts with the logo you will find on the site.

Flyball is relay racing for dogs. Any breed of dog can compete, you don't have to be an

Olympic athlete yourself, you just need a dog and  want to have fun.

History

Flyball started in around 1970 when a Californian  Herbert Wagner  developed the first  tennis ball
launcher. This lead to the new sport of flyball being held at dog shows in the Toronto and Detroit areas.  This  grew into a number of  small tournaments and eventually the first ever flyball tournament was held in 1983.

The Bouncers were founded in 1999 by Ms Betty Potts who had started flyball in 1997 but became frustrated with the win at all costs attitude that was permeating through the sport.

Thus the Bouncers were born The aim of the teams is to provide their dogs and themselves with exercise, competition and above all FUN!

The Bouncers have two groups one based in the Selby area and one in the Drifield area and contact details for each group can be found on the site. So if you are interested why not come along to one of the training session and give it a go.
